According to the CDC, an estimated 300,000 deaths per year may be attributed to obesity. Even moderate weight excess (10-20 pounds for a person of average height) increases the risk of early death, particularly among adults aged 30-64 years. Overweight adolescents have a 70% chance of remaining overweight adults and that chance increases to 80% if one or more parent is obese.

It is never too late to start an active and healthy lifestyle!
Treatment includes combinations of diet, exercise and behavior modification. In addition, recent evidence has shown that exercise is as effective as psychotherapy and anti-depressant drug therapy in treating mild to moderate depression.
